Do you get that unstoppable excitement, that butterflies mingle in your stomach kind of feeling before traveling? I had plenty of that when I departed for Athens last week, to attend a very dear friend’s wedding. The sheer excitement of the journey, being there for a special friend’s wedding were enough to produce many sleepless nights, all worth it!
Here are some photos from the trip. I so feel like home in Greece; we have so much in common culture and food wise and I count myself very lucky to count my Greek friends amongst my best friends. One of my favorite parts in Athens is the quaint Plaka, which surrounders the Acropolis. Souvlaki is a must to try, make it in Plaka if you can.
Mousakka recipe will follow soon.
Happy travels and share of good food to you all!
I've been a few times to Greece and Turkey in my youth and have enjoyed those visits very much. And I still get butterflies in my stomach when I travel after all these years…:-)
I share the same feelings:) so glad you enjoyed your travels to Turkey and Greece, so well worth celebrating all the wonderful things we share in common:)
Many thanks for the comment, best wishes,
